Stolen Bases With The Altoona Curve
One of the most exciting moments in baseball is when a player steals a base. That feeling was the inspiration for our partnership with the Altoona Curve andVariety the Children's Charity. In past seasons, we donated $50 to Variety foreach base an Altoona Curve player stole.
This season, each base stolen by an Altoona Curve player during home games will earn a donation of $50 to Dreams Go On, which provides therapeutic horseback riding for Blair County adults and children with disabilities.
What is Dreams Go On?
To a child or adult with a physical, developmental or emotional challenge, life can look a lot brighter on horseback. Horse riding can strengthen and tone riders’ muscles, improve balance, build self-esteem, and offer a sense of freedom and equality.
That’s why Dreams Goes On exists. Their certified instructors and dedicated volunteers teach responsibility, trust, rules, patience, compassion, self-confidence, teamwork, and safety to more than fifty physically and mentally challenged horseback riders.
Working with The Curve
Beyond being a great minor league baseball team, the Altoona Curve supports local youth programs and organizations that promote exercise, health, activity, and education.
